He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ He frowned and then turned away 1 Because there came to him the blind man. 2 And what do you know, he may be of the pure! 3 Or that he may accept advice, so the advice may benefit him. 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 And you have nothing to lose if he does not become pure. 7 But as for him who cometh unto thee with earnest purpose 8 And he feareth 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 (and whoso wills, shall remember it) 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted, purified, 14 (Set down) by scribes 15 Honourable and Pious and Just. 16 Be cursed (the disbelieving) man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 Of a sperm-drop He created him, and determined him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 then He caused him to die and brought him to the grave, 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 So let man just consider his food: 24 How We poured down water in torrents, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 how We made the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and herbage 28 and olive trees and date-palms, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 (These are made so as to be) means of enjoyment for you and your cattle. 32 Then when cometh the Deafening Cry 33 on that Day a man shall flee from his own brother, 34 Mother and father, 35 And his wife and his sons; 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 And other faces, on that day, with dust upon them, 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those are the disbelievers, the wicked ones. 42
God the Almighty always says the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
