And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They would carve secure houses out of the mountains. 82 But the (mighty) Blast seized them of a morning, 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We have not created but with reason the heavens and the earth and all that lies within them. The Hour (of the great change) is certain to come. So turn away (from them) with a grace. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 Who have made the Qur'an into portions. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 Of what they used to do. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 Indeed We suffice you against these mockers. 95 Those who ascribe another God along with Allah; so they will soon come to know. 96 We do indeed know how thy heart is distressed at what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
