The dwellers in the wood (of Midian) denied the messengers (of Allah), 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 And you are naught but a mortal like ourselves, and we know you to be certainly of the liars. 186 Therefore cause a portion of the heaven to come down upon us, if you are one of the truthful. 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Your Lord is Majestic and All-merciful. 191
