And We delivered the Children of Israel from the shameful doom; 30 from Pharaoh who was most prominent among the prodigals. 31 And certainly We chose them, having knowledge, above the nations. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 These men do say, 34 "There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected. 35 Bring back to us our fathers if you are truthful.” 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba and those afore them? We destroyed them; verily they were culprits. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not except with truth (i.e. to examine and test those who are obedient and those who are disobedient and then reward the obedient ones and punish the disobedient ones), but most of them know not. 39 The Day of Judgement is your promised day of meeting, 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Save those on whom Allah will have mercy. Verily He! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
