Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Woe to the liars 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
