The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur’an is recited to them, they do not fall prostrate? (Command of Prostration # 13) ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
