And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders. 75 And We saved him and his household from the great distress, 76 And made his progeny to endure (on this earth); 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 he was among Our believing servants. 81 Then afterwards We drowned the rest. 82 ۞ Abraham was one of his followers. 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you imagine the Lord of the worlds to be?" 87 The people invited him to attend their feast). Then he looked at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 And he turned upon them striking them with the right hand. 93 Then the people came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 So they contrived a plot against him, but We made them abject. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, grant me a righteous (son)' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When both surrendered (to Allah's command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 Of a surety thou hast fulfilled the vision. Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty victim. 107 and We let it (the beautiful praise) remain upon him in the latter (generations), 108 Peace be on Ibrahim. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
