Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
