He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 Because there came to him the blind man (i.e. 'Abdullah bin Umm-Maktum, who came to the Prophet (Peace be upon him) while he was preaching to one or some of the Quraish chiefs). 2 What could inform thee but that he might grow (in grace) 3 Or that he might receive admonition, and the teaching might profit him? 4 But the self-sufficient, 5 you attended to him, 6 What does it matter to you if he will not become pure (from disbelief, you are only a Messenger, your duty is to convey the Message of Allah). 7 but as for one who comes to you, eagerly 8 and fears (Allah), 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 By no means! Verily it is an admonition. 11 So whosoever willeth - let him be admonished therewlth. 12 (Contained) in honoured pages, 13 exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Perish the human! How unthankful he is! 17 From what stuff hath He created him? 18 From a drop of liquid; He created him and then set several measures for him. 19 Then maketh the way easy for him, 20 Then causeth him to die, and burieth him; 21 Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. 22 Not one he has not yet completed what he was commanded. 23 Let man look at his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 And caused to grow within it grain 27 And grapes and vegetables 28 Olives and dates, 29 And enclosed Gardens, dense with lofty trees, 30 And fruit and grass - 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 At length, when there comes the Deafening Noise,- 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 his mother and his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 On that day, each one has just one issue, which is enough for him. 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news (of Paradise). 39 but others will be gloomy 40 enveloped by darkness. 41 Those, they are the unbelievers, the immoral. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
