The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which splitteth (with the growth of trees and plants) 12 Indeed, the Qur'an is a decisive statement, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
