Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 And when the seas are burst forth (got dried up); 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O human! What has deceived you concerning your Generous Lord 6 Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical? 7 in whatever composition He wanted. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 noble, recording, 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Surely the virtuous shall be in Bliss, 13 The wicked certainly in Hell: 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 And they (Al-Fujjar) will not be absent therefrom (i.e. will not go out from the Hell). 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 Again, what will make you realize what the day of judgment is? 18 A day on which no soul hath power at all for any (other) soul. The (absolute) command on that day is Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
