The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 No soul is there but hath over it a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 And it is not amusement. 14 As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
