The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 and He taught him speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 So establish weight with justice and fall not short in the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has set flowing two seas that appear to meet. 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
