Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And those that revive by quickening, 3 Then by those that clearly differentiate the right and wrong. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 To complete the argument or to warn. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are obliterated 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from an insignificant drop of fluid 20 Then We lodged you in a secure place (the womb) 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 40
