And who is more unjust than one who fabricates lies against Allah or denies His signs? Undoubtedly, the unjust will never succeed. 21 for one Day We shall gather them all together, and then We shall say unto those who ascribed divinity to aught beside God: "Where, now, are those beings whom you imagined to have a share in God's divinity?" 22 Then they will have no excuse but to say, "By God our Lord, we have never been polytheists." 23 Behold how they lie against themselves, and how that which they were forging has gone astray from them! 24 And among them is one who listens to you; and We have put covers upon their hearts so they may not understand it, and deafness in their ears; and (even) if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; to the extent that when they come to you to debate with you, the disbelievers say, “This is nothing but stories of former people.” 25 And they prevent [others] from him and are [themselves] remote from him. And they do not destroy except themselves, but they perceive [it] not. 26 If you should see them when they are stood before the Fire, they will say: "Ah would that we were sent back (to the world)! We shall not deny the signs of our Lord, and be among those who believe." 27 Yea, in their own (eyes) will become manifest what before they concealed. But if they were returned, they would certainly relapse to the things they were forbidden, for they are indeed liars. 28 And some [of the unbelievers] say: "There is nothing beyond our life in this world, for We shall not be raised from the dead." 29 If you could only see when they are made to stand before their Lord! He will ask them, "Is this [second life] not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord!" He will say, "Then, taste the punishment that comes from your having refused to acknowledge the truth!" 30
