They question you about the spirit. Say: 'The spirit is from the command of my Lord. Except for a little knowledge you have been given nothing' 85 And if We willed We could withdraw that which We have revealed unto thee, then wouldst thou find no guardian for thee against Us in respect thereof. 86 Unless your Lord have mercy. His blessings on you are great indeed. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 And We have explained to man, in this Qur'an, every kind of similitude: yet the greater part of men refuse (to receive it) except with ingratitude! 89 They say: "We shall not believe in thee, until thou cause a spring to gush forth for us from the earth, 90 “Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and you make gushing rivers to flow in it.” 91 "Or you cause the heaven to fall upon us in pieces, as you have pretended, or you bring Allah and the angels before (us) face to face; 92 or, until you possess an ornate house of gold, or ascend into the heavens; and we will not believe in your ascension until you have brought down for us a book which we can read' Say: 'Exaltations to my Lord! Am I anything except a human Messenger' 93
