The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Behold, I am an apostle [sent by Him] to you, [and therefore] worthy of your trust: 162 so fear you God, and obey you me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you, of all people, approach males, 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, “I am disgusted with your works.” 168 My Lord, save me and my family from their evil doings." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
