We certainly bestowed Our favor upon Moses and Aaron 114 and We delivered both of them and their people from the great calamity. 115 And We helped them, so that they were the victors; 116 and We gave them the Clear Book, 117 And showed them the straight path, 118 And We left (this blessing) for them among generations (to come) in later times: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily, thus do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 121 Surely they were both of Our believing servants. 122 And indeed, Elias was from among the messengers, 123 He told his people, "Why do you not have fear of God? 124 Do you call on Baal and abandon the Best of Creators, 125 Allah is your Lord and the Lord of your ancestors of yore.” 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 except Allah's chosen servants. 128 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 129 'Peace be upon Elias!' 130 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 131 Lo! he is one of our believing slaves. 132 And verily Lut was of the sent ones. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Except an old woman who was among those who lagged behind: 135 and We destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 And at night. Then will you not use reason? 138
