The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
