This is the reasoning We gave to Abraham against his people, We raise in rank anyone We please, your Lord is wise and aware. 83 And We gave to him Ishaq and Yaqoub; each did We guide, and Nuh did We guide before, and of his descendants, Dawood and Sulaiman and Ayub and Yusuf and Musa and Haroun; and thus do We reward those who do good (to others). 84 And Zachariah and John and Jesus and Elias. Each one (of them) was of the righteous. 85 And Isma'il and Elisha, and Jonas, and Lot: and to all We gave favour above the nations: 86 With some of their forefathers and their offspring and their brethren; and We chose them and guided them unto a straight path. 87 This is God's guidance: He gives among His creatures whom He will. If they had associated others with Him, surely vain would have been all they did. 88 Those are they unto whom We gave the Scripture and command and prophethood. But if these disbelieve therein, then indeed We shall entrust it to a people who will not be disbelievers therein. 89 These are they whom Allah guided, therefore follow their guidance. Say: I do not ask you for any reward for it; it is nothing but a reminder to the nations. 90
