(Moses) said: "O my Lord! expand me my breast; 25 And make my mission easy. 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 Strengthen my back by him, 31 And share my task, 32 "That we may glorify You much, 33 and remember You much: 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 And indeed, another time, already We have shown thee favour, 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 to lace her child in a chest and throw it into the sea which would hurl it towards the shore. Then an enemy of Mine who was also the enemy of the child would pick it up from there. I made you attractive and loveable so that you would be reared before My own eyes. 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 go therefore, thou and thy brother; with My signs, and neglect not to remember Me. 42 Go ye twain unto Fir'awn, verily he hath waxen exorbitant, 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 He said: Fear not. Lo! I am with you twain, Hearing and Seeing. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said, “Our Lord is One Who gave everything its proper shape, then showed the path.” 50 Pharaoh said, 'And what of the former generations?' 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
