In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you who wraps himself [in clothing], 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 For half the night, or reduce some from it. 3 Or a little more; and recite the Quran (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and) style. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 Remember the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him wholeheartedly. 8 Lord of the East and Lord of the West – there is no God except Him, therefore make Him your sole Trustee of affairs. 9 And bear with patience what they utter, and part from them with a fair leave-taking. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 Indeed We have heavy fetters and a blazing fire. 12 food that chokes and painful punishment 13 On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. 14 We have sent an Apostle to you as a witness against you, as We had sent an apostle to the Pharaoh. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger; so We seized him with a heavy Punishment. 16 Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white- haired? 17 Whereby heaven shall be split, and its promise shall be performed. 18 Verily this is a reminder. So let him who desires take the way to his Lord. 19
