50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), 1 And those raging swiftly; 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 To end all argument or to warn. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 Would that you knew what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make later generations to follow them. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from an abject fluid? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 unshading against the blazing flame 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 That is the Day of Judgement on which We have assembled you as well as all those who went before you. 38 If you have any plans, use them. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
