In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 And when the heaven is rent asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 Till a limit known? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 Proceed now towards that which you were wont to deny as false; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 it indeed throws up sparks like castles, 32 as black camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
