The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Quraish (Quraish) before Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Clatterer! 1 What is the terrible calamity! 2 And what will make you comprehend what the terrible calamity is? 3 A day wherein mankind will be as thickly-scattered moths 4 and the mountains shall be like plucked wool-tufts. 5 And then, he whose weight [of good deeds] is heavy in the balance 6 will have a most pleasing life. 7 But as for him whose deeds are light on the scales, 8 He will have his home in Hawiyah (pit, i.e. Hell). 9 And what could make thee conceive what that [abyss] will be? 10 It is a blazing fire. 11
