It is He who sends down water from the sky. From it you drink and with it trees grow on which you pasture your cattle. 10 He causes to grow for you thereby the crops, olives, palm trees, grapevines, and from all the fruits. Indeed in that is a sign for a people who give thought. 11 He has made subject to you the Night and the Day; the sun and the moon; and the stars are in subjection by His Command: verily in this are Signs for men who are wise. 12 On the earth He has fashioned for you objects of various hues: there is certainly a sign in that for people who pay heed. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 And He has affixed into the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with you, and rivers and roads, that you may guide yourselves. 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is then He Who creates like one that creates not? Will ye not receive admonition? 17 And if you would count the graces of Allah, never could you be able to count them. Truly! Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you disclose. 19 Those whom they (Al-Mushrikun) invoke besides Allah have not created anything, but are themselves created. 20 Dead, without life they are, and do not know when they will be raised. 21
