They ask you about the Spirit. Say, "The Spirit comes by the command of my Lord. You have been given very little knowledge. 85 If We pleased We could take away that which We have revealed to you then you should find none to guard you against Us, 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: If men and jinn should combine together to bring the like of this Quran, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were aiders of others. 88 And We have certainly diversified for the people in this Qur'an from every [kind] of example, but most of the people refused [anything] except disbelief. 89 They have said, "We shall never believe you until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth, 90 "Or you have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth in their midst abundantly; 91 or, until you cause the sky to fall upon us in pieces, as you have claimed, or, as a surety bring Allah with the angels in front; 92 or (show us) that you have a well adorned house of your own, or climb into the sky. We shall never believe that you have climbed into the sky until you bring us a book that we can read." Say, "All glory belongs to my Lord. Am I more than a mortal Messenger?" 93
