Commemorate Our Servant Job. Behold he cried to his Lord: "The Evil One has afflicted me with distress and suffering!" 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed on him (again) his household and therewith the like thereof, a mercy from Us, and a memorial for men of understanding. 43 [And finally We told him:] "Now take in thy hand a small bunch of grass, and strike therewith, and thou wilt not break thine oath!" for, verily, We found him full of patience in adversity: how excellent a servant [of Ours,] who, behold, would always turn unto Us! 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 And verily they are with us of the elect of the excellent ones. 47 Remember [Our servants] Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhu'l-Kifl. Each of them was among the just. 48 This is a commemoration. Surely for those who take heed for themselves is an excellent place of return -- 49 Gardens Everlasting, whereof the portals remain opened for them. 50 They will be comfortably seated; reclining, they will call for abundant fruit and drink; 51 ۞ With companions of modest look, the same in age, by their side. 52 This is what you, [the righteous], are promised for the Day of Account. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This (shall be so); and most surely there is an evil resort for the inordinate ones; 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 All of this; so let them taste it, boiling water and pus, 57 And other (punishment) of the same kind-- of various sorts. 58 This is an army plunging in without consideration along with you; no welcome for them, surely they shall enter fire. 59 They shall say: Nay! you-- no welcome to you: you did proffer it to us, so evil is the resting-place. 60 They will say: 'Our Lord, give those who brought this upon us double the punishment of the Fire' 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 What, did we take them for a laughing-stock? Or have our eyes swerved away from them?' 63 That most surely is the truth: the contending one with another of the inmates of the fire. 64
