The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And (as to) the companions of the left hand; how wretched are the companions of the left hand! 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 on lavish couches 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness), 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And meat of birds that they may wish. 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 as the likeness of hidden pearls, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water everflowing. 31 and abundant fruit, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And on couches or thrones, raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Lovers, friends, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38
