Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
