This, (Quran), is certainly the revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 192 brought down by the Faithful Spirit 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In the perspicuous Arabic tongue. 195 And most surely the same is in the scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 It will come upon them unawares, and they will not comprehend it. 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Think! If We let them enjoy life for some years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 And We destroyed not a city but it had its warners. 208 To advise; and We never oppress. 209 And it is not the Shayatin (devils) who have brought it (this Quran) down, 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished. 213 And warn thy tribe of near kindred, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 and observes your movements among those who prostrate themselves. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They come down on every guilty impostor. 222 They listen, but most of them are liars. 223 And the astray follow the poets. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they do not do? - 226 Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned. 227
