The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the angels ranged in ranks. 1 And those who restrain by reprimanding, 2 And those who recite the Reminder, 3 surely your God is One, 4 the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and of all that is between them, and the Sustainer of all the points of sunrise! 5 We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars 6 a protection against every rebel satan; 7 The devils cannot hear those high above. They would be struck from all sides 8 Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; 9 Except such as snatch away something by stealing and they are pursued by a flaming fire of piercing brightness. 10 Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Lo! We created them of plastic clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 and, when reminded, do not remember 13 and when they become aware of a [divine] message, they turn it to ridicule 14 And say: "This is only magic. 15 Why - after we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 16 What, and our fathers, the ancients?' 17 Say, "Yes indeed, and you will be brought low." 18 There is but one Shout, and lo! they behold, 19 and they will say: 'Woe for us. This is the Day of Recompense' 20 (A voice will say,) "This is the Day of Sorting Out, whose truth ye (once) denied!" 21
