Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the Clear Book; 2 Lo! We have appointed it a Lecture, in Arabic that haply ye may understand. 3 It is inscribed in the original Book (of Books) with Us, sublime, dispenser of (all) laws. 4 Can We ignore sending you the Quran just because you are a transgressing people? 5 How many a Prophet did We send to the ancients, 6 but whenever a prophet came to them, they mocked him, 7 Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them). 8 Yet, if you ask them who created the heavens and the earth, they will answer: 'The Almighty, the Knower created them' 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And (it is He), who sends down water from the sky in its measure thereby We revive the land that was dead, as such you shall be brought forth. 11 And Who hath treated the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you from ships and cattle things whereon ye ride. 12 so that you can sit upon their backs and then remember the Favors of your Lord and say: 'Exaltations to Him who has subjected these to us otherwise, we ourselves were not capable of it, 13 surely unto our Lord we are turning.' 14 Yet they assign to Him some of His own (created) worshipers! Clearly, the human is unthankful. 15
