Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 separating one from another, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 Surely, what you are promised must come to pass. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the apostles are gathered at their appointed time 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will convey unto thee what the Day of Decision is! - 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 Which We laid up in a safe abode 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress, 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
