The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 When souls are reunited (with the bodies) 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 and when heaven is laid bare, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and sit during the day, or by the darkening night 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 This is indeed the recitation of an honoured Noble Messenger. (Angel Jibreel – peace and blessings be upon him.) 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
