The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 when he will be helpless, with no supporter. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And no trifle. 14 They are planning a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
