The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Certainly will the believers have succeeded: 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who keep aloof from what is vain, 3 who give charity, 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess,- for (in their case) they are free from blame, 6 but those who seek to go beyond that are transgressors -- 7 And they who are to their trusts and their promises attentive 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These will be the heirs, 10 who shall inherit Paradise therein dwelling forever. 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; 13 then We made this drop into a clot, then We made the clot into a lump, then We made the lump into bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We caused it to grow into another creation. Thus Most Blessed is Allah, the Best of all those that create. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then you will all be raised on the Day of Resurrection. 16 We have indeed fashioned above you seven paths. Never were We unaware of the task of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 We grow orchards of dates and grapes from it for you, Which yield fruits in abundance that you eat. 19 And created the tree that comes forth from Mount Sinai – that grows containing oil and curry for the eaters. 20 And lo! in the cattle there is verily a lesson for you. We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and many uses have ye in them, and of them do ye eat; 21 You are carried by the animals on land and by the ships in the sea. 22
