And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said: "We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them." 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 you and your fathers, the elders? 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And Who feedeth me and watereth me. 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 "Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 “And do not disgrace me on the day when everyone will be raised.” 87 the day when neither wealth nor sons shall profit 88 Except him who comes to Allah with a heart free (from evil). 89 Paradise will be brought near those who take heed for themselves and follow the straight path; 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 who will be asked, "What did you worship 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be pitched into it, they and the perverse 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 We have no one to intercede for us before God 100 and no sincere friend. 101 If only we could return and be among the believers!" 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Surely, Your Lord is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 104
