S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Sad. By the renowned Qur'an, 1 But the Unbelievers (are steeped) in self-glory and Separatism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 They wondered that a warner had come to them from among themselves, and the deniers of the Truth said: “This is a sorcerer, and a big liar. 4 Has he turned so many gods into one deity? This is indeed a strange thing!" 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 Never did we hear of [a claim like] this in any faith of latter days! It is nothing but [a mortal man's] invention! 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or do they possess the dominion of the heavens and the earth and of all that is in between them? If so, let them ascend the heights of the realm of causation and see! 10 this host too, among other hosts, is bound to suffer defeat. 11 Before them (were many who) belied Messengers, the people of Nuh (Noah); and 'Ad; and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) the man of stakes (with which he used to punish the people), 12 And the tribe of Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the People of the Woods; these are the groups. 13 Each of them gave the lie to Messengers and My decree of chastisement came upon them. 14
