So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 and that with thy Sustainer is the beginning and the end [of all that exists]; 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do ye then wonder at this recital? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
