Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 THE LIE gave [the tribes of] Thamud and 'Ad to [all tidings of] that sudden calamity! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed by a furious violent wind; 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Pharaoh, and those before him, and the Cities Overthrown, committed habitual Sin. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's apostle, so He laid hold of them with a grip increasing. 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 That We might make it for you a reminder and [that] a conscious ear would be conscious of it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 Then on that Day shall happen the Event. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he will say: Lo! read my book: 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 In high empyrean 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 I am bereft of power." 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Behold, he never believed in God the All-mighty, 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 Therefor hath he no lover here this day, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat except the Khati'un (sinners, disbelievers, polytheists, etc.). 37
