Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the sky is split, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 (Then) a person will know what he has sent forward and (what he has) left behind (of good or bad deeds). 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you then formed your symmetry, then gave you right proportion, 7 Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you. 8 No indeed; (the fact is that) you deny the Reckoning, declaring it a lie; 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 Kind and honourable,- Writing down (your deeds): 11 They know whatsoever ye do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? 17 Again, what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
