Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
