The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Concerning what are they disputing? 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again, indeed, they shall know! 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We made your sleep a rest, 9 made the night as a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 And gardens thick with trees. 16 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is an appointed time - 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Behold, Gehenna has become an ambush, 21 a resort for the rebellious; 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 They will not taste therein cool or any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 , A fitting reward. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 but We have recorded everything in a Book. 29 (They will be told), "Suffer, We shall only increase the torment for you". 30
