Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is split open, 1 when the stars are scattered, 2 when the oceans are gushed forth, 3 And when the graves are turned upside down (and they bring out their contents) 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Yet you deny the Last Judgement. 9 yet there are over you watchers 10 noble recorders, 11 who know all that you do: 12 The virtuous ones will live in bliss 13 and the wicked shall be in the Blazing Fire. 14 They shall enter it on the Day of Recompense 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 They will never be able to escape from it. Would that you knew what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
