۞ Gather all the wicked together and their comrades, and those they had worshipped 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 And stop them, for they must be questioned. 24 "Why help you not one another?" 25 Nay! on that Day they will be entirely submissive. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 Others will respond, "It was you who did not want to have any faith. 29 Moreover, we had no power at all over you: nay, you were people filled with overweening arrogance! 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 “We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!” 32 So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Verily when it was said unto them: there is no god but Allah, they ever grew stiff-necked. 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 "Surely, he has brought the truth, confirming those who were sent before; 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 And ye shall be required not except for that which ye have been doing; 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 will have their determined sustenance 41 Fruits; and they will be honored 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 a goblet from a spring shall be passed round to them 45 Clear, delicious to drink, 46 Neither dulling the senses nor intoxicating, 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 (Pure) as they were hidden eggs (of the ostrich). 49 They will turn to one another with questions: 50 And a speaker from among them will say: verily there was unto me a mate. 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 [that] after we have died and become mere dust and bones we shall, forsooth, be brought to judgment?"' 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 'By Allah' he will say, 'you almost destroyed me! 56 And had it not been for the favour of my Lord, I too had been of those haled forth (to doom). 57 Is it then that we are not going to die, 58 and that we would not be punished?" 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 its spathes are as the heads of Satans, 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 So they (too) made haste to follow in their footsteps! 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 So behold what wise hath been the end of those who were warned. 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
