Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 So We seized him and his hosts and cast them into the sea. Indeed, he was blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh before, surely they were a transgressing people. 46
