The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 The event will be abasing some, and exalting some. 3 when the earth will suddenly shake with a terrible shaking, 4 And the mountains will be powdered to dust. 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 And ye shall be sorted out into three classes. 7 Thus, there shall be such as will have attained to what is right: oh, how [happy] will be they who have attained to what is right! 8 Then those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) will be those of the left hand! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Who will be honoured 11 In gardens of bliss [will they dwell] 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 but [only] a few of later times. 14 [They will be seated] on gold-encrusted thrones of happiness, 15 reclining upon them, set face to face, 16 Immortal youths will serve them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit; that they may choose. 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 and flower-clad acacias, 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 And exalted thrones. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chaste, loving companions of the same age 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
