The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl-child that was buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 BUT NAY! I call to witness the revolving stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
