Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 roasting at a scorching Fire 4 watered at a boiling fountain, 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Which doth not nourish nor release from hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And the sky: how it was raised high? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And the earth, how it is spread? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 But whoever will turn away (from the Truth), 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
