Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

And never did We send any Prophet to a dwelling but We seized its people with hardship and adversity so that they may become humble. 94 Then We gave them good in the place of evil until they became many and said: Distress and happiness did indeed befall our fathers. Then We took them by surprise while they did not perceive. 95 But if the people of these regions had believed and feared God, We would surely have showered on them blessings of the heavens and the earth; but they only denied, and We punished them for their deeds. 96 Did the people of the towns feel secure against the coming of Our wrath by night while they were asleep? 97 Or are the people of the townships then secure from the coming of Our wrath upon them in the daytime while they play? 98 Can they remain secure against the plan of God? Only they feel secure against the plan of God who are certain of being ruined. 99
